25 years ago today, I said the best yes of my life. 

Tom, thank you for loving me, praying with me, cheering for me, crying with me, laughing with me, celebrating with me and sitting with me when neither of us have the words.

The ending was just the beginning. 

“As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives.” (Job 19)

He is Risen! Because He lives, we can too. Even though our scars are reminders of our wounds, His scars are reminders that He offers us healing.
On this Good Friday, I’m thinking about scars. 

 Jesus - chose to give His life for us all. He chose the nails. But why do He choose the scars?

At resurrection, He could’ve been fully made new. Scars healed and all.

Shame thrives where silence lives. Hiding your story can feel like protection, but it carries a heavy cost. 

God offers freedom, “Everything exposed by the light is made clear.” (Ephesians 5:13) 📖 ✨

Sharing your truth, even with one tr
Cycle breaking gets misunderstood. A lot.

It’s not disloyal.

It’s not blaming your parents for everything.

It’s not disrespectful.

It’s not being ungrateful.

It’s not thinking you’re better than anyone.

Sometimes the gentlest pace is the most transformative. 💛
When it comes to condemnation, God makes His heart for us very clear. Romans 8:1 tells us there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. John 3:17 adds that God didn’t send His Son to condemn the world, but to save it.

Today you would’ve been 92 today. 

I’m thankful for the years I had the privilege of calling you my bonus dad. 

You are still remembered and loved and every time I’m at the lake, I can’t help but remember how much you loved
Your triggers aren’t weaknesses. They’re invitations to pay attention to unhealed places with tenderness.

Thank your body for surviving. Then invite it to soften. 💛
